Description Technical Specs

Surface NRG Paddle by ProLite

The Surface NRG Paddle uses a special PowerGrit technology on its surface. The texture improves spin with the maximum roughness allowed and absorbs vibration as well. This results in excellent feel and response when you hit pickleballs and will add power with increased deflection/rebound. Its ability to disperse impact also helps to strengthen players' placement and control while positioning shots right where they want them.

The Surface NRG Paddle has a weight range of 7.8 - 8.1 oz which lends itself to a balanced yet sturdy feel. The handle length is 5" and has a medium grip size. The edge guard is highly durable and slim enough that you lose very little surface area. A colored, checked background lies across half of the face, divided by a black band that shows the ProLite name. On the other side, the background is light grey with a pickleball and lightning strike sitting atop the design.

The Surface NRG Paddle gives you the ability to redirect pickleballs and throw off the competition with tough manuevers while maintaining absolute control over your game.

Actual grip sizes may vary up to 1/8".

Reviews of the ProLite Surface NRG Paddle by Pickleball Central Staff:

"This thing is a beast in the best possible way. It's a 'player's paddle'; meaning that if you consider yourself a shot maker who likes to work the ball, then this is for you. I'm just starting to play at a 4.0 level, so I'm starting to experiment and play more with power oriented paddles. As you read this review, understand that I normally play with softer playing control oriented paddles. When I got the Surface on the court, I tried to channel my inner power player, and boy did I have some fun! I've recently started to hit with a little bit more spin (mostly under-spin on cut backhands and driving forehands with top spin to keep the ball down.) This paddle enabled me to hit these baseline cut drops and 'no-man's land' drives on high balls when the opportunity presented itself on 3-5-7 progressions with confidence. The face is HIGHLY TEXTURED (a nod to the old APEX?). I watched some other players put astounding amounts of spin on the ball with this paddle. I don't hit a ton of spin, but when I need it, this paddle delivered it with ease. The Surface NRG I used in the demo was a 7.9 ounce model, and the weight was biased moderately towards the head. This helps create more power, putting the mass out higher on the paddle. But just because this is a more power oriented paddle, it doesn't mean you can't execute finesse shots like drops, dinks, and lobs. After around 20 minutes of drilling, I felt confident placing these more touch shots where I needed. I still tend to power balls long, so I had to be careful with this paddle because it delivers the goods in terms of power. That's my issue, not the paddle. The sweet spot is consistent for a composite paddle, and I found that strikes outside the sweet spot still felt solid. ProLite's brand is 100% authentic, and 100% devoted to creating unique paddles that fit very specific player types. They are one of the few companies that create a wide product line with something for everyone, but ProLite is one of those rare manufacturers. This paddle is for someone looking for lots of power, great spin control, and a super solid feel. They've killed it with this model. It is a wonderful paddle."
Edward, Marketing (4.0 Player)

"This paddle will deliver incredible pop when you put the ball in the sweet spot, and has just about the grippiest surface you’ll find on any paddle. In the hands of a player who is skilled at cutting the ball, particularly when playing with a Dura outdoor ball, shots will spin for days!"
Traver, Operations (3.5 Player)

"If you are a fan of the SuperNova and the Titan I encourage you to try out the Surface NRG. The touch, control and incredible spin that you get with the performance paddles from ProLite is still there, and now you can have a little extra pop, as well. The paddle feels well balanced in my hand, the weight more central and not towards the top. The grip is comfortable and feels good in the hand. And I think it is a good looking paddle, too! But the true joy is on the court. Top spin or cut, my ball seemed to bite just a little bit more. The short game shots were staying low over the net and landing in the kitchen on the other side. And then, when the put away chance came, that is when I really noticed the difference with the extra pace on the ball. ProLite continues to find unique materials to create innovative paddles. From beginner to pro, the Surface NRG is one to try."
John, Sales (3.5 Player)

ProLite Surface PB Paddle September 17, 2019
Reviewer: Al Bradshaw-Whittemore from Mount Pleasant, SC United States
As a USAPA Ambassador and a PPR Certified PB Coach I have well over 20 pickleball paddles. When I received the PL Surface I immediately fell in love with it. I liked some of the other paddles but the Surface feels so good. The grip fits perfect and the rough surface hangs in to the ball just a little longer to give me better control. The fact that it was on sale sweetened the deal even more. I’ve let other players use it and most love it also. One has already purchased one.

Not for me -- stubby handle September 7, 2019
Reviewer: Kraig K from Rosemount, MN United States
I like this paddle overall:  On the heavy side, weight distribution skewed toward the tip of the paddle, nicely textured surface.  I just didn't like the handle; it's not long enough for me.  So back to pickleballcentral.com it went ...

So glad I found this paddle! August 22, 2019

I'm a relative newbie. Been playing since May. my game has progressed enough that I needed more of a power paddle to help me get serves and returns deeper more consistently. I was also miss hitting lots of balls but that wasn'tmy primary concern. I decided it was time to get my first 'grown up' paddle, when I saw this one. It read like it was everything I wanted.
oh my gosh am I amazed and pleased. First time out on a court I could tell the difference. It feels so solid and has almost a trampoline kind of feel. if you could put it in slow motion time-lapse photography I'm fairly certain the ball stays on the surface a little bit longer, and comes off with a rebound. I have consistent deep power now. I don't have to cream the ball and give up control to have solid power.

My ability to put aggressive spin on the ball has also improved.

Don't look anywhere else if you're looking for your first step up paddle and want a solid performer.
