Rocket XL by Pro-Lite

You SAVE $15 (MSRP $84.99)

The Rocket XL Pickleball Paddle by Pro-Lite Sports promises to move your game up and take it to the next level. The honeycomb polymer core inside the paddle is dense, providing extra durability and stamina. Outside, the smooth fiberglass face is slightly raised along the outside of the letters spelling out “Rocket” and “XL”. The criss-cross pattern against the solid color background closely resembles a pickleball net. This paddle is designed to provide a lot of power as well as maneuverability at the net.

The Composite Rocket XL paddle carries a lot of raw power in its weight range of 8.2 to 8.6 ounces. This mid-heavyweight paddle ensures that every ball will get over the net. The paddle gets its slender appearance from being 15-7/8” long and 7-5/8” wide, which also gives the face an elongated rectangular shape. The 5” long handle is a great length and is the ideal length to provide a little extra reach without taking inches away from the face. Finally, the medium grip circumference is wrapped with a grip featuring raised ribbing.

The Rocket XL paddle is the ultimate paddle combining finesse with the ever-desired power.

Hi, my name is Mark Friedenberg. They call me Yoda. I use two paddles in my matches. My Nationals, right now, I use a Magnum Graphite, even though it’s beat up. It has very good control and power. I also use a Rocket which is polypropylene core and it also has a fiberglass 20,000th of an inch thick skin and has a lot of pop. This one is 8.1 ounces (Rocket) and this is 7.2 ounces (Magnum Graphite) because I have a large swing, I usually use this (Magnum Graphite).

Thank you, Mark.

Great all around paddle. Provides great touch and spin while still keeping a large amount of power. It's in the middle borderline heavyweight zone and might not be a good paddle for those who want good maneuverability at the net. A good outdoor paddle since its heavy weight tends to do well against heavier balls. Grip size might not be adequate for players with small hands. I have been playing for this paddle for about 5 months and love it!

I used a friends paddle to test it out prior to purchasing and the one I received did not disappoint. Also, when ordering, I requested the lightest weight they had in stock for this model and CS was more than happy to accommodate.

3 of 5 Not for everyone June 30, 2016
Reviewer: Ian Pierce from Alpine, UT United States
I gave this paddle a go for a little over a year, and played a couple of tournaments using it.  The following are the reasons I chose to part ways with it:
1. The paddle has a very nice feel in it's sweet spot, but that area of the paddle was too small.  Shots hit just slightly towards the handle did not get the pop I need when I have to return a hard hit ball.
2. Balance.  I found that the center of gravity of the paddle was too close to the handle.  I grip very low with the butt of the handle inside my grip.  Because of this, it was hard to control backhand cross court dinks and volleys as the contact point was beyond the center.
The thing I liked about this paddle is it did give me about half an inch more of reach which I really liked.  In the end though, I was losing more points because of the paddle's fit to my style of play than I was gaining for it.
