QuietBall Pickleball by Onix Sports

The Onix QuietBall aims to solve the noise complaints about the sound of paddles hitting balls. This ball is made out of foam, greatly reducing the amount of noise produced on impact. However, because of this novel material, the ball plays differently than the typical pickleball made from plastic. You don't get the familiar pickleball pop from the QuietBall. It can be used in real games, but is not approved for official tournament use.

The QuietBall is smaller than all the outdoor pickleballs. However, this difference is less than a tenth of an inch and is almost unnoticeable. It is the lightest ball on the market, weighing only 0.71 ounces. Those playing outside should pay special attention to weather conditions as wind can affect the movement of the ball. This ball does have a relatively good average bounce height of 32”.

The Onix QuietBall, doesn't play exactly like a hard plastic standard pickleball, however, it is a fantastic choice for people who want to play early in the morning or late at night and keep the neighbors happy!

I have used the Onix Quietballs for practice indoors at home.  They work fine. They do not damage walls and give a consistent bounce. The bounce is a little different then a true Pickleball, but it is OK.  We also tried them outdoors and they were acceptable.   There is very little noise with them as compared to the regulation Pickleballs.

The ball is quiet!  The ball is a little smaller than the regular ball.  Our club goal is to use this ball in lessons with people who need to play a little slower as the ball absorbs the bounce and comes off the bounce a little slower.

4 of 5 Quiet-really? Onix QuietBall October 2, 2015
Reviewer: Pam from Severna Park, MD United States
Yes.  I found these  balls pacified the neighbors and there annoyance over our play early in the day. I did not feel that they played differently from the other balls but some of my friends disagreed-the nerve! So we play with them early and use the regulars later.  Works for me.

2 of 5 Quiet but different bounce September 10, 2015
Reviewer: NWnative from Milwaukie, OR United States
These balls are much quieter than the official pickleball, but have a different feel.  I haven't tried playing with them yet with my grandkids, but think it may be a good beginner's ball.  I won't use them unless required to by neighbors!
