A consistent paddle with a forgiving touch thanks to its 16mm core, but plenty of composite faced power. Angled handle contributes to spin and quick reloads.

Mid-Heavyweight/Medium Grip

ProXR Advantage Blackout Series 16 Composite Paddle

The Advantage Blackout Series 16 Pickleball Paddle from ProXR provides power, with a noticeable measure of control thanks to its thick 16mm (0.63") polymer honeycomb core. The design takes its cue from the original ProXR Advantage Composite Paddle but extends the length, narrows the width a tad, and reshapes the neck to move the sweet spot up the paddle face a bit. Players will love the controllable feel, while benefitting from the pop and consistent feedback it offers. The paddle retains the patented XR-23 angled handle, and puts its textured fiberglass face to work on your cuts and slices for exceptional spin.

The Advantage Blackout 16 Paddle is 16.5" length which makes it perfect for generating power on passing shots and dynamic serves. The sweet spot is extended throughout most of the surface area, and while you'll get the best response near the top of the paddle it will still react reliably even when you're not hitting dead center. Its weight range is 8.0 – 8.4 oz. which contributes to quick put-aways. The handle is 5.5" long to allow for double-handed backhands, and the 4.25" grip circumference has a cushioned and tacky feel. ProXR's revolutionary handle design also contributes to enhanced spin, ball exit velocity, and reload back to center thanks to its unique angled style.

The Advantage Blackout Series 16 Composite Fiberglass Paddle from ProXR will improve your precision and help you retain consistent power with less fatigue.

Actual grip sizes may vary up to 1/8".

The good: Love the offset handle. Provides better reach and comfort. Surface grit provides really good spin out of the gate. The bad: Offset handle forces player to keep same side of paddle oafter 6-8 weeks of play, the paddle on your forehand. Consequently, the sweet spot on the forehand side has really worn the grit down, losing spin capability. An advanced player I showed it to also commented they thought the surface was coming off the core, as well.

This is one of the best paddles on the market. The way the ball flys off the paddle and still has control is insane

I joined a pickleball league on Sundays a year ago and I was having such a hard time finding a paddle that would fit into my hand properly.. I tried different brands, different grip tapes, nothing felt right. Then I came across this paddle! After seeing the shape of the handle, I was VERY curious! I tired it out and it changed everything for me! My game has definitely improved. Definitely recommend.

  • Exactly what I wanted PLUS some

I was tired of hearing all the marketing on paddles so I decided to figure out exactly what it was that I wanted. I finally landed on 16.5" x 7.5", fiberglass face with a poly core. Seems simple but I also wanted a poly core with an immaculate symmetry of the poly core and this paddle has just that. The true bonus came after using this paddle for a few drill sessions when I started to really feel the extra touch and feel you get when rolling the ball because of the grip. At the start I just wanted the materials they used and the grip seemed a little farfetched to me. However, the more I use it the more I can do because of the grip. You have to give this paddle a try, then you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.

The ProXR Advantage Blackout 16 mm is my favorite paddle on the market. I've tried lots of popular newer paddles (Electrum Model E, CRBN, Joola Ben Johns paddle) and they are all comparable in spin and touch. One of the biggest differences I've noticed is that the Advantage Blackout 16 mm has more pop without sacrificing the touch needed for good resets. Even though at first I thought the angled handle might be a gimmick, it truly did increase my hand speed because of the added leverage and took some pressure off of my elbow at the same time. To me, a paddle of the same weight without the angled handle feels heavier. So much so that the elbow pain I was experiencing using the Model E has completely gone away since starting to use the Advantage Blackout 16 mm at the exact same weight.

All around great paddle. Handle shape increased my hand speed, paddle face material increased my spin (similar to CRBN). The fact that it’s 16mm gave me extra touch and rebound when I needed it and still has plenty of pop. Probably the best all round paddle I’ve played with

The sweet spot seems to cover the entire face of the paddle. Haven't found a dead spot yet after over 30 hours of play. For defense, the paddle is very forgiving and absorbing, but for offense, the ball still comes off with lots of pop and power when needed. It's the best of everything.
