WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS MANAGER

Seeking an experienced warehouse operations manager to be responsible for all areas relating to the warehouse operations, including inventory control, logistics, improving processes, policies and procedures. The Warehouse Operations Manager will help the company achieve overall efficiencies in concert with other department heads.

A fulltime salaried position managing a team of six to nine (and growing) warehouse team members and managers.

Pickleball Central owns and operates a total of six e-commerce web properties, manages a vibrant business on Amazon.com, and ships products around the world. The Warehouse Operations Manager position is a challenging assignment due to the fact that we’ve grown quickly and haven’t instituted optimized standard warehouse materials handling, production, receiving, and shipping procedures.

Pickleball Central is viewed in the industry as the authority on all pickleball products including paddles, balls, grips, shoes, clothing, portable net systems, and permanent court nets, posts, and surfacing.

Warehouse Operations Manager reports to VP of Operations and works closely with the CEO, purchasing department, and business owners. The Warehouse Operations Manager will supervise the Shipping Manager and the Receiving Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee receiving operations including reconciliation, inspection, and stocking
  • Oversee production operations including retail packaging of products, building of kits, and apparel production
  • Oversee inventory management practices
  • Manage all stocking, picking, packing and shipping operations. Review and implement best practices in picking, packing and shipping
  • Manage raw materials such as boxes, tape and other shipping supplies
  • Manage warehouse safety
  • Production of daily work logs to track warehouse team goals and publish productivity / safety metrics
  • Ensure all warehouse associates follow policies and work rules including safety work rules
  • Assist in managing warehouse departmental budget
  • Schedule associate shifts based on shipping and receiving volume
  • Assist in Interviewing, and hiring, of new warehouse associates, and handle all needed training new warehouse associates
  • Complete daily close-down according to policies and standard operating procedures, including re-stocking, cleaning, equipment maintenance and data entry

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 years of warehouse management and leadership experience in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to train, coach, and mentor warehouse associates
  • Strong organization and prioritizing skills
  • The ability to make decisions, problem solve, prioritize assignments and direct the workforce in a growing warehouse environment
  • Ability to manage budgets; read and interpret P&L statements; and prepare related management reports
  • Intermediate PC skills with knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Positive, up-beat “can-do” attitude
  • Operates at a high level of integrity

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 3 years warehousing, logistics, supply chain or shipping management experience
  • BS/BA Degree or Associates Degree with Equivalent Experience is a plus but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and leadership skills
  • Proven track record in supervision of warehouse employees including hiring, training, and termination
  • Parcel shipping experience including experience with best rate routing of packages within common carriers such as USPS, UPS and/or FedEx
  • Receiving and inventory control / inventory management experience
  • Experience administering a stock management system
  • Warehouse lay-out and design expertise
  • Experience running a warehouse with safety and efficiency as priorities

Social Media Marketing Specialist

General Description: Pickleball Central seeks a dynamic and innovative Social Media Marketing Specialist to help drive and grow our brand awareness and social media presence through continually increased engagement and traffic across multiple channels (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter) and multiple social media properties. This position reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications and works closely with the internal Marketing team as well as with external strategic partners.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with the marketing team to develop and execute social media strategy
  • Manage social media publishing calendars for multiple social media properties and multiple channels including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter
  • Create text, graphics and video content to publish daily that engages our audience(s) on social media channels
  • Grow key metrics for multiple social media properties through continuous increase in number of followers, view, comments, shares, conversions
  • Create, monitor, manage and report on social media advertising, promotions and retargeting campaigns
  • Collaborate with strategic partners and sponsors to share and cross-promote relevant content
  • Monitor multiple social media accounts to reply promptly to comments, remove inappropriate content, appropriately route inquiries, representing our brands with the appropriate voice
  • Maintain administrative function for multiple social media properties and channels
  • Coordinate with web team and external consultants as needed to optimize web properties and social media channels to generate, monitor and increase conversions
  • Monitor other relevant social media sites keeping an eye out for opportunities to interact appropriately with the online pickleball community
  • Stay up to date with current with emerging technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications
  • Ensure that social media content reinforces our brands and is consistent in style, quality and voice
  • Utilize analytics to track effectiveness of campaigns and develop new opportunities

Job Type:

Warehouse Laborer

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Walk or stand for 8 hours a day. Warehouse workers walk around the warehouse picking or moving products or stand at a packing station for most of their shift
  • Read English on packing slips and on production and shipping documents
  • Fill orders from warehouse stock, shelves or bins by picking products from
  • Group orders for greater efficiency
  • Carry or transport orders to shipping platform
  • Organizing products in warehouse shelves or bins
  • Seek products in overstock (This often involves climbing a ladder to obtain boxes on upper shelves)
  • Check inventory levels
  • Re-stock low inventory
  • Communicate inventory issues with Inventory Manager
  • Climb ladders to reach overstock, organize inventory, obtain fixtures or other tasks to help the company
  • Pick products from shelving units for shipping
  • Knowledge of dimensional (DIM) weight pricing to minimize shipping charges
  • Knowledge of appropriate boxes, bags and other shipping options to choose the optimal shipping container
  • Knowledge of appropriate packing materials to adequately protect products from breakage or damage
  • Carefully review orders to confirm correct products and quantities were picked
  • Closing and sealing shipping containers
  • Applying labels or entering data on shipping containers
  • Thorough knowledge of freight rates and best shipping practices
  • Occasional assistance unloading containers of pickleball nets with weights up to 25 pounds
  • Shrink wrapping pallets
  • Using manual pallet jack to move pallets

  • Pickleball courts are adjacent to the warehouse stacks, the sound of people playing pickleball is almost constant in the warehouse
  • Some corners of the warehouse have insects. An extermination service routinely services the warehouse, however there are some spider webs and occasions other insects

  • Broad digital and print design talents with proven ability to design a wide variety of graphics for print and web such as infographics, brochures, t-shirt designs, web banners, web ads, print ads, paddle designs, graphics for videos, packaging, print banners, social media content, email design
  • Organize images, photos, and all graphic assets so that others can easily find needed files
  • Projects include work for email marketing, websites and tradeshows/tournaments and events
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Create Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Demonstrated understanding and skills creating vector graphics for print media and digital art for web
