The quality of the indoor Penn 26 balls (hot lava color), I was disappointed to see noticeable ridge around the ball. This is the seam where the manufacturer meld the two halves together. You can see it clearly and when you run your finger on the ridge, can be noticeably felt. When I compare with other balls (indoor Onix, Dura 40), the Penn 26 seam is most noticeable. We bought this ball because of the sale and the color was ideal for our indoor wooden gym floor, so we are going to keep them. We have played with them and many of the players liked the ball because it was easy to see in the gym. We have been using Onix indoor and the Penn 26 is is slightly less soft and a little bit lighter. It was difficult to put spin on the Onix, but a bit easier doing so on the Penn 26. Will evaluate longevity and playability to determine if we will re-order in the future.

PBC Response: Hello, friends at Foster City Pickleball! Just to shed some light on this, the Penn 26 indoor ball has a seamless construction. These balls are made using a process called rotational molding, so what you're seeing is excess plastic from where the two halves of the mold met during production. This is a frequent occurrence on one-piece pickleballs that are made this way. The excess plastic will naturally break away during normal play, and shouldn't affect the performance of the ball, the longevity, or the predictability that one-piece construction offers. I hope this helps! --PickleballCentral
