Description Technical Specs

GAMMA Pin Composite Pickleball Paddle

The GAMMA Pin Paddle has a textured composite face which contributes to a high level of control and uses a top-weighted design to ensure extra power during swings. The elongated shape allows for versatility during play and reduces the amount of movement needed to reach across the court or bend down for groundstrokes. The Sensa Poly Core provides a pleasant touch and allows for smooth, precise dinks as well as point-winning slams.

The GAMMA Pin Paddle is 16-5/8” long with a still generous 7-1/8” width. The paddle’s sweet spot is particularly noticeable near the end of the paddle. It has a small handle circumference with a perforated grip that absorbs moisture and ensures traction against your hand. The face is diagonally split between black and pale blue colors, with the middle “line” revealing a honeycomb pattern that mirrors the interior core.

The GAMMA Pin Paddle is an unstoppable force that can strengthen your net game while offering a surprising amount of speed from a distance.

Actual grip sizes may vary up to 1/8".

Staff Pro Reviews of the Gamma Pin Pickleball Paddle:

"The Pin offers lots of power for ground strokes and serves due to its elongated shape, and its extra reach is great to help reach passing shots and low shots at your feet. The fiberglass face design helps with the power, and the sweet spot is biased towards the top of the paddle. I found this paddle to be very good at generating spin on the ball, aided by its rough surface texture and long shape. If you like paddles that are bit more head biased in balance, this is your baby - when you strike a power shot the balls pops off the face. When I work with customers who come from a tennis background, this is a paddle I will be recommending. It will work well for those tennis players who are looking to soften up their game a bit, but maintain power ground strokes. It plays soft enough to help with dinks and drops, and has great potential for spin when used wisely."
Arne, Pro-Shop Staff (4.5 Player)

"When Gamma introduced the Needle (the graphite variation of this new Pin model), I really became a fan of Gamma's blade shape design. I got a chance to hit with the new Pin, and am glad to report this is also a great playing paddle. It has quite a bit of pop (more than the Needle, owing to its fiberglass face and poly core combination construction) and for an elongated paddle it has a nice sweet spot due to the slightly wider shape than other blades. As someone who prefers a slightly more square and smaller grip I also love the grip shape on this paddle which I feel helps me orient the paddle."
Jimmy, Paddle Product Manager (3.5 Player)

"After playing with the Gamma Needle, I was curious to play with the Pin. I was expecting more power from the fiberglass face, and I wasn’t disappointed. And while many may prefer the soft play control of the Needle (with its graphite face), the Pin is a great alternative for windy days and singles, and those folks who just like a more power oriented offensive paddle. When you find your shots lack the depth you need, the extra pop from the Pin will help make up for the deficit. The length of the paddle gives it a little bit of a head weight feel that can also aid in powering your shot over the net. Not to mention, you get that little extra reach that those of us who are vertically challenged desire."

Test Reviews of the Gamma Pin Pickleball Paddle:

"I have found the Gamma Pin to be an excellent, versatile paddle. The extra reach is outstanding, but the touch and feel of the paddle were a pleasant surprise. The rough surface is excellent for shot control, but there is plenty of power as well. Additionally, the paddle seems to be more durably made than other elongated paddles I have used. I am a very tall player, but I am still looking to gain every possible inch of reach in order to cover the court. This paddle allows me to do that without sacrificing the other parts of my game."

2 of 5 Not for me... September 5, 2019

(4.0 Player) I liked the feel of it when I played my first two games. However, when I played my first singles tournament using it I found the handle was just to small in length. During the match I had to go back to my old paddle and I actually started to play better. So, my conclusion is that it’s not for me. I’m currently trying to sell it now...

4 of 5 Work in progress! August 25, 2019

After careful evaluation I knew I wanted an elongated paddle with some texture to the surface.  I also wanted more hitting weight so honeycomb was my choice.  It takes time to adjust to a change like this.  Paddle is very balanced and responsive though not as head heavy as I had hoped.  After a week and a half I am still feeling out all the playing characteristics.  My advice is to try several paddles if you can before committing and to use the 30 day trial period pickleball central allows.  They stand behind the ir products which is why I keep coming back.
3 week update:  my Pin plays very well and is much more quick and responsive than my previous Z5.  Grip is tiny but I put two Gamma over grips on and it feels great.  As I have adjusted I am getting great spin and excellent control.

3 of 5 Pickleball Purchase May 27, 2019
Reviewer: Ragman from Wilton, CT United States
This is my second paddle ever and I'm probably a 3+ player.  I liked the fact that the Pin was longer so I could reach shots that I otherwise would not have, but that wasn't enough to offset the fact that I didn't like the feel of the paddle vs my first paddle.  It's slightly head-heavy and that started giving me tennis elbow.  The hitting sound is not the crisp thwack that I like but that's a personal choice.  However the sweet spot is smaller than my first paddle and that sealed the deal for me.  I am sending it back.  Probably a great paddle for those who like the shape but not for me.
