GAMMA 405 Graphite Paddle

The GAMMA 405 Graphite Pickleball Paddle is an adaptable all-court paddle that truly shines up at the net. Its light-midweight and soft touch imparted from GAMMA's Sensa Polycore and supple graphite face result in a highly controllable tool. However, when called upon to delivery some power, the half-inch-thick core and long handle provide whip-action pop allowing you to put ground strokes past your opponents with surprising ease. Potent overheads, too? Check.

The GAMMA 405 weighs in at 7.4 – 7.8 oz., is 7-3/8" wide, and measures 16-3/8" in overall length. This length offers the same benefits as an "elongated" paddle shape, while reserving 5-1/4" of that length for the handle so two-handed backhands, blocks, and resets are an ever-present option. The 405's handle circumference is a small'ish 4-1/8" and arrives wrapped in GAMMA's super popular honeycomb grip.

"Pardon the expression, but the 405 sits in a 'sweet spot' in the GAMMA paddle lineup. It leverages the long'ish handle and proportions of some of GAMMA's other new models like the 206, the 505, and the Havoc (for power), as well as the supple graphite face of the Shard and Compass (for control). Then GAMMA combines these elements with their trusty Sensa polymer core material used on the Needle, RZR, and other models which, at a half-inch thick, tips the scales toward the power end of the spectrum just enough to call this a graphite-faced power paddle. Normally this would be thought of as a contradiction in terms, but GAMMA flouts conventional wisdom with the 405. Love the GAMMA 405 Graphite Paddle paddle. Has great feel for those low short shots and enough power to get deep. Feels a little lighter than the Shard, a plus for me

I've played a few times with it and I'm liking it.  I'm a rec player and play 3-5 times a week.  I think this is a slight upgrade over my TWP for power and control but it's at a different level for spin.  It's a keeper for me!
