"The Aspen Kern Centre paddle is the lightest and fastest paddle in the Franklin signature line up. The balance on this paddle was more toward my hand, adding to the light feel. The 15.7 X 7.8 paddle has a square playing face. This shape, along with the carbon fiber face extends the sweet spot a little bit more than the other signature models. And, the Centre also has the MaxGrit to help give a little extra on top spin and cut shots. Overall, the Centre paddle has the shape and face to be a good defensive paddle. I have purchased numerous paddles that were more expensive. Many opponents with whom I play have said that my control and spin are better with this paddle. My only small drawback is that the paddle seems less "solid" than other paddles I have used. However, speed is adequate and control is very good.
