Update to previous review
Aug 12, 2023
This is an update to my previous review of the VULCAN V730 MAX. In my first review I noted that I purchased the paddle (used) on 3/29/23. I was disappointed that after four months of social/rec play, the paddle face was pricked, bubbling and peeling. Pickleball Central directed me to contact VULCAN directly. VULCAN WAS AMAZING. From my initial call to VULCAN, I was assured that they support their customers and THAT THEY DO! VULCAN replaced the paddle. Excellent customer service VULCAN. I will use my wonderful paddle proudly!

Vulcan V730 MAX
Aug 2, 2023
Ordered the Vulcan V730 MAX paddle (used) 3/29/23. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in the durability of the paddle. In only four months, the paddle face is showing flecks and air bubbles under the surface of the paddle face. I anticipate the (paint?) bubble to fleck off any day exposing the paddle core. The paddle has been used at the recreational play level. Although I was happy with the performance of the paddle, the durability is POOR. Do not waste your money on this Vulcan product.

A bit of a let down...(read on)
Oct 11, 2021
I'm a 3.75 player. I have tried a lot of paddles looking for the grail. So far I've settled on the Vulcan 550 Hybrid as my #1 go-to. I purchased this paddle as an upgrade thinking they would play the same, but they don't. The 730 has a similar look and dimensions. The first thing that struck me was the lock of power compared to the 550. The spin off the face seems to be similar. I play a lot of heavy cuts and it's pretty responsive. The thing that really struck me was the lack of consistency. The 550 has been my favorite because I got really consistent results across the face giving me a lot of confidence in a dink war. I have found the opposite of that with this paddle. If I strike the ball in a very consistent position I get great results, but off-center hits tend to die or float depending. I'm not giving up on the paddle yet, but it was not a plug-and-play switch with some technology improvements. It plays quite differently than the 550 which I simply can't recommend enough.
