The AMPED Epic X5 FiberFlex Paddle pairs up-to-date pickleball technology with a traditional shape. The lengthy handle and wide face offer a pleasant feel that reacts just as well along the edges as it does near the sweet spot. The head-heavy balance is great for players who prefer weighting that's somewhat similar to a tennis racquet. As an all-arounder with exceptionally smooth play, this paddle is one you'll want to have on hand.
The AMPED Epic X5 FiberFlex Paddle has a unique face and X5 core that reduce noise and vibration while increasing the consistency of the paddle's touch. This allows you to keep the ball on the paddle longer and increase your control during placement. The design has Selkirk's "S" logo above center with a colored background on the upper half of the paddle and white below.
The AMPED Epic X5 FiberFlex Paddle gives you the power to take advantage of every rally no matter where you are on the court.

Reviews of the Selkirk EPIC AMPED Pickleball Paddle by PickleballCentral Staff:
"When the new AMPED Series paddles arrived, everyone on the team wanted to play with them immediately. I hit with all of them, and quickly gravitated towards the Epic. I normally prefer a traditional shaped, poly-core/graphite faced paddle. In my experience they tend to create soft playing paddles with exceptional touch, and a maximized sweet spot. As an ex-racquetball player, power isn’t my problem – I want a paddle that gives me confidence at the kitchen.
When you pick up this paddle for the first time, you immediately notice how thick it is. This paddle is to Pickleball what Texas Toast is to sandwiches. It's thick, and I have to say, very, very tasty! I put around 4 hours on the paddle, using it during a couple of drills session, and some pretty spirited 3.5 - 4.0 level doubles play. I have to say I’m impressed with the new Selkirk AMPED Epic. It’s X5 FiberFlex face, and it's ultra-thick poly core are distinctive looking, and you are immediately struck by how different it is. I just finished my second day playing with it, and here are my impressions during play:
First, the paddle has an exceptionally large sweet spot. To me, a sweet spot is the area on the paddle starting at its bullseye center of the face and extending out where the ball behaves consistently. Having a large sweet spot is critical when handling shots at the maximum of your reach when you are stretching to dig out a ball or handle a great cross-court dink, or when your reaction time is challenged like when you are fighting off fast volleys. The Epic shaped AMPED paddle immediately gave me confidence in the way the ball would come off the face in all shot types.
Secondly, the paddle plays with exceptional control. Selkirk claims that their new X5 poly core/fiberglass face combination is energy absorbing and in my hands I believe it. Playing with a DURA ball in some aggressive competitive play, I found the feel of shots to be very consistent, inspiring confidence at the kitchen to dink or playing cut and drop shots.
My final test for a paddle is how well it does when you crank up the heat. I believe that generally most players are able to power up and crush a ball with almost any paddle. (I have the bruises to prove it too!) But some very soft playing paddles make you feel like you really have to crank hard, and that's just not the case with this Selkirk AMPED cored Epic Model. Serves, hard volleys, and overhead smashes all seemed to get where they needed (within my skills) with great pace.
I have to say that I could find only one barely negative thing to say about this paddle, and it probably says more about me than the paddle. Because it is so thick, it wasn’t as easy to pick-up balls off the ground being rolled to me after faults or side outs. I know, that’s a very weird complaint, but seriously, this thing is up to one quarter of an inch thicker than other paddles and it was just a bit tougher to scoop us balls being rolled under the net. Shows you how different this paddle truly is. I think this is another winner from our friends at Selkirk!"
