Amped S2 X5 FiberFlex Paddle

The AMPED S2 X5 FiberFlex Paddle has the largest surface area in Selkirk's AMPED line. Players will appreciate the versatility the broad face allows as well as the impressive sweet spot. Balls will react off the face with great accuracy thanks to the unique FiberFlex face and graphic application process which allow for more time to place shots where you want them. The X5 core adds more consistency across the face and a quieter sound.

The AMPED S2 X5 FiberFlex Paddle has a weight average of 8.2 oz (Std. Weight) or 7.6 oz (Light Weight). The handle is a little shorter than the rest of the AMPED line to accommodate the bigger face. The Selkirk "S" logo is placed slightly above center in the middle of the paddle. A colorful geometric backing lies in the upper half of the paddle while the lower portion is white. The paddle name is written in a black font below the logo.

The AMPED S2 X5 FiberFlex Paddle uses modern paddle technology to offer powerful yet controlled play and consistent responsiveness across the face.

NOTE: Weights are calculated with a Standard Grip. Choosing a Thin Grip will reduce the paddle weight by approximately 0.2 ounce.

Actual grip sizes may vary up to 1/8".

Reviews of the Selkirk S2 AMPED Pickleball Paddle by PickleballCentral Staff:

"I must admit to being a bit of a paddle geek. Of the (too?) many paddles I own, I have a couple of Selkirk paddles. Needless to say, I was excited when I saw the videos for the AMPED paddles and couldn’t wait to compare them to the S1 G+ which is my primary daily paddle. The new AMPED Version of the S2 Selkirk paddle fulfills on the promises made. The thicker core makes for a “softer” playing paddle. I feel like this is the first fiberglass face paddle I can control. There must be something to this FiberFlex face material, because I immediately liked the shot feel with this paddle. I usually have trouble keeping the ball on the court due to the power of the fiberglass faced paddles, but this was not the case with the AMPED S2. I have enjoyed the S1+ Graphite version (which is the heavier version of the prior model using a poly core with Graphite Face). With the new AMPED S2, I also felt I had the same control on my short game that I get with graphite paddles. My summary is this: Confidence inspiring in kitchen play, large sweet spot when volleying, and more than enough power on serves and passing shots. I’m excited to get more AMPED time on the courts!

This racket is well made it did not perform as I would have liked. It had good control but was slow or what they call power. The ball did not come off the paddle as fast as I wanted. I returned it thanks to pickleball centrals 30 day trial. I have since ordered another Selkirk racket. The Vangaurd S2.

I like the paddle, but the handle is a tad small for my hand, but not so bad to affect my play.

This is a great paddle. I tried it side by side with the Vanguard S2. While the Vanguard definitely provided a softer touch for dinking, I felt the loss of power with the Vanguard was significant when compared to the Amped S2. There is still nice control with the Amped for dinking, just not as soft as the Vanguard. I bought 2 and am very pleased. My previous paddle of choice was Evoke Premier. I like the Amped far more than the Premier.

When I started to play PB in 2018, I bought a Selkirk Epic. Nice paddle, but too light. Since I play tennis also, I needed a heavier and more powerful paddle. In 2019, I bought the Selkirk Amped 2 X5. It's been great for my game. I sold the Epic on Craigslist in January, now I have 2 Ampeds. I'll never play with any other paddle from now on.
